Betrayal

Just when the flowers are blooming, the trees are budding, and the birds begin to nest, THIS is what Texas dumps on us. Traitor.

Snowy front yard

Snowy hammock

Snowy trees

Snowy bushes

These pictures were taken about 12 hours after the snow stopped falling, and some of the snow has melted already. I think we officially got 5" of snow yesterday. And actually, when this is (as the locals claim) a once-every-25-years event, it's kind of fun! I couldn't believe how many snowmen sprang into existence within 1 hour of when the snow began to fall!

It'll all be gone in a day or two, but for today, UNT is closed and I have vacation. As they say down here, yee-haw!

Well, as long as you're in the mood for snow, you can count on several standing inches of the stuff when you get to Wisconsin - along with below-zero temps. And even though you'll freeze to death while you're here, isn't it amazing that in a very short time you'll be in HOT Thailand, wishing you could import a little of that cold air. :-) Loved the photos, by the way.

That's how we do winter in the south - snows one day, melts the next. - jasmemphis
